    Legal

    Privacy Policy

    Last updated: 18 October 2026

Draft for operator and legal review. Operator details, jurisdiction, processor arrangements and retention periods require confirmation; this is not a claim of legal compliance.

This Privacy Policy explains how [Operator details pending confirmation], trading as "7HourTeacher"("we", "us", "our"), collects, uses, and protects personal data when you visit this website(the "Site"), use teacher software or preview learning tools. Teachers deliver their own lessons; 7HourTeacher provides the software.

    1. Who is the data controller

The data controller is [Operator details pending confirmation], operating "7HourTeacher". The legal entity, location and controller/processor roles require confirmation. For any privacy-related question you can reach us at contact form.

    2. What data we collect

    2.1 You give us directly

    • Identification details: full name, email address, optional phone number.
    • Teacher-template booking data where that feature is used on a teacher site. Public booking previews do not submit orders.
    • Online teacher-plan checkout is not live. Payment processors and billing arrangements must be confirmed before launch.
    • Level test answers and the CEFR result generated from them.
    • Messages you send by email or contact form.
    • Account credentials (email + hashed password) if you create one.

    2.2 We collect automatically

    • Technical data: IP address, browser, device, language, timezone, referrer.
    • Usage data: pages viewed, time on page, lesson progress, game results.
    • Cookies and similar technologies — see section 8.

    3. Why we use your data (legal bases)

    • To operate requested software features — account access, teaching tools, test results and teacher-managed student data. Legal basis: performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
    • To comply with the law — accounting, tax, invoicing, statutory record-keeping. Legal basis: legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR).
    • To keep the Site secure and improve it — fraud prevention, abuse detection, anonymised analytics, debugging. Legal basis: legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
    • To send you optional updates — journal posts, new courses, promotional content. Only with your explicit opt-in. Legal basis: consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).

    4. Who we share data with

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with carefully selected processors who help us run the service:

    • Hosting & backend — secure EU-region cloud hosting, database and authentication.
    • Email delivery — transactional email provider for account and platform messages.
    • Payments — checkout is not live; no payment provider is claimed here.
    • Analytics — privacy-friendly analytics for aggregated traffic data.
    • Authorities — only when required by Czech or EU law.

    5. International transfers

Whenever possible we keep your data inside the European Economic Area. If a processor operates outside the EEA, we rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy decision to safeguard the transfer.

    6. How long we keep your data

    • Teacher-template booking and billing data: retention schedule to be confirmed for the applicable jurisdiction.
    • Account data: until you delete your account, then up to 30 days in backups.
    • Level test results: up to 24 months, then anonymised.
    • Marketing consent: until you withdraw it.
    • Server and security logs: up to 12 months.

    7. Your rights under the GDPR

    You have the right to:

    • Access your data and receive a copy.
    • Rectify inaccurate or incomplete data.
    • Erase your data ("right to be forgotten") where applicable.
    • Restrict or object to certain processing.
    • Data portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format.
    • Withdraw consent at any time, without affecting prior processing.
    • Lodge a complaint with the Czech Data Protection Authority (Úřad pro ochranu osobních údajů, www.uoou.cz).

To exercise any of these rights, email contact form. We respond within 30 days.

    8. Cookies

We use a small number of cookies and similar technologies:

    • Strictly necessary — authentication, session, language preference. Cannot be turned off.
    • Analytics — only if you accept. Aggregated, no profiling.
    • Marketing — only if you accept.

You can change or withdraw your cookie choices in your browser at any time.

    9. Security

We use TLS encryption in transit, encrypted storage at rest, hashed passwords, row-level security in our database, and strict access controls. No system is perfectly secure, but we treat your data with the care we would want for our own.

    10. Children

The Site is not directed at children under 16. If a student is under 16, teachers must establish the appropriate guardian consent and safeguarding arrangements for their own business.

    11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top always reflects the current version. Material changes will be highlighted on the Site.
